CANDIDA

What is Candida

Candida, or yeast overgrowth, is a condition called candidiasis, can affect virtually any organ in the body. The effects of yeast overgrowth are wide-ranging. Yeast may cause chronic fatigue, recurrent yeast infections, abdominal bloating and indigestion, headaches and skin rashes, immune suppression and chemical sensitivity, depression, and joint pain.

How is it Caused

We all have good, beneficial bacteria in our gut, but when it becomes out of balance, yeast can overgrow and cause problems in our digestive tract. Here are some of the top reasons that can lead to this imbalance and cause yeast to overgrow in the colon:

  • antibiotics
  • birth control pills
  • steroids
  • eating a diet filled with sugar and simple carbohydrates.
